ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Head Football Coach
Steve Johnson has been selected by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association (MFCA) as this year's Man of the Year. The award honors a member of the football community who has made significant contributions to football in the state of Minnesota.
With a career record of 156-74-1, Coach Johnson has led the Royals to the national semi-finals twice in the last 4 years. The Royals have had a winning record 19 consecutive seasons, have won 4 MIAC titles, and have appeared in the NCAA playoffs 6 of the last 11 years.
Beyond the records and statistics, Johnson's passion is for the community and individual athletes. The ability to lead and mentor those athletes distinguishes Johnson as this year's Man of the Year.
Coach Johnson will be recognized on Friday April 1 at this years MFCA clinic. Minnesota Gopher Head Coach Jerry Kill will present the honor.
