Franciscan Box Score
CLERMONT, Fla. - Bethel scored 10 runs in the top of the first inning and cruised to an 11-2 win over the Franciscan University of Steubenville in five innings today.
Kelly Berg (Jr., South Haven, Minn.) did her part by going 4-for-4 at the plate and knocking in four runs. Each of her hits went for extra bases. Had she been content with "just" a single on one of her two doubles, she would have hit for the cycle.
Lynnae Thompson (Sr., Stewartville, Minn.) was also perfect on the day, batting 3-for-3 with a run and RBI, while
Ashley Lindberg (Sr., Sartell, Minn.) went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and RBIs.
Rebecca Buhr (So., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) also went 2-for-3 and contributed to the cause with a run and run batted in.
Charitey Rowden (Sr., Shellsburg, Iowa) toed the slab for Bethel and gave up two runs on six hits in five innings of work. She struck out four and walked just one in the complete game victory.
With the win, Bethel improves to 2-2 overall on the season. The Royals are scheduled to play three games tomorrow, beginning at 9:30 a.m. (Eastern time) against Westfield State.
