GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Less than 24 hours after breaking a 10-year old school record in the 55-meter hurdles, Taylor Ferda (Sr., Whitefish, Mont.) broke it again in the finals at the NCAA Division III National Championship meet.

Ferda's time of 7.53 seconds was good for a tie for third place, just .07 seconds off the winning time of 7.46 seconds. His time is .03 seconds faster than he ran in the preliminary race and .07 seconds better than the previous school record set by Matt Young in 2000.

Ferda later went on to run with the 4 x 400 meter relay team, which finished seventh overall with a time of 3:19.39. The team of Ferda, Joel Quick (Sr., Johnston, Iowa), Zach Schlegel (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.), and Eric Rhode (Sr., North St. Paul, Minn.) finished ahead of both Hamline and St. Thomas, who also had teams competing at the national meet.

Jay Quick (Jr., Johnston, Iowa) finished in ninth place in the high jump by clearing 2.00 meters (6 feet, 6.75 inches). His finish is five spots better than last season at the indoor national meet where he finished in 14th place.
