MIAC Release
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethel University's
Scotti Moats (Fr., Waconia, Minn.) has been named a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Co-Athlete of the Week for her performances last week.
Moats was a key factor for the Bethel Royals last week as they upset two of the top two teams in the conference. On Wednesday night against Macalester, the freshman center contributed 12 points and seven rebounds to a 72-61 win over the Scots. Moats hit a 3-point shot with just over four minutes remaining to give Bethel a nine-point lead, and then made three of her last four free throws down the stretch to help seal the victory. Then on Saturday, Moats recorded her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds, which led all players in a 50-48 win for Bethel over Concordia. Moats shot 8-for-11 from the floor in the effort, but more importantly, pulled down seven offensive rebounds, which helped lead to eight of Bethel's 10 second-chance points during the game.
The Royals are scheduled to play three times this week beginning with a game against St. Catherine University on Monday night beginning at 7:30 p.m. Moats shares her honor with Rachel Booth from the University of St. Thomas.
