NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Bethel's
Taylor Ferda (Jr., Whitefish, Mont.) has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Third Team for men's track and field/cross country, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Ferda is a social studies education major (5-12) with a 3.84 GPA. He most recently competed in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field national championships in the 110 meter high hurdles and earned All-American status by finishing fifth with a time of 14.60 seconds. Earlier in the season, he broke his own
school record in the event with a time of 14.48 seconds. He was also the lead off runner in the school record setting 4 x 400 meter relay team that finished second at the national meet. As a result he, along with his other three teammates, earned NCAA All-American status. This is his first Academic All-America award.
