NFCA Release
STARKVILLE, Miss. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region teams today, and Bethel University's shortstop
Kelly Berg (So., South Haven, Minn.) earned a spot on the Midwest third team.
Berg led the team in several offensive categories, including batting average (.425), runs (32), hits (51), home runs (9), and total bases (92), as well as slugging percentage (.767) and on-base percentage (.477). Her nine home runs sets a new single season school record and, when combined with her three round-trippers from last season, she now has a new career school record as a sophomore. Berg was instrumental in helping Bethel earn its first-ever MIAC playoff berth as she helped the Royals close out the regular season by winning nine of their last 13 games. She had a home run in five of those games, including two two-home run performances against Saint Benedict on April 24.
