ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Royals finished their regular season on a positive note in a somewhat impromptu addition to the schedule. Bethel took on the visiting team from UW-Stout and ended up winning in dominating form, 8-1.
In doubles, the Royals went three for three, each pair handily defeating their challengers.
Krista Nauman (Fr., Buffalo, Minn.) and
Stefanie Erlander (So., Excelsior, Minn.) came away with the most definitive score of 8-0. But
Ashley Dohlen (Jr., Morris, Minn.) and Heather Blair (Jr., Glenwood, Minn.) were not far behind, and they finished 8-3. The most a Stout doubles team was able to get off Bethel was four games, which was the contest in which
Kristin Kishaba (Sr., Eau Claire, Wis.) and
LeRoyce Chapman (Elk River, Minn.) won 8-4.
In singles, the most impressive scores went to number five and six, Nauman and Erlander, as each finished winning 6-0, 6-0. Notably, Chapman won her match 6-2, 6-1 in what ended up being a relatively long contest.
The Royals graduate two seniors at the end of this year -
Kristin Kishaba and
LeRoyce Chapman. Bethel finished the season with a 2-14 overall, and 0-10 MIAC record.
