COON RAPIDS, Minn. - The Bethel Royals began play in their first ever MIAC Championship by shooting a collective 385 at the Bunker Hills Golf Course, which is good for 9th place.

Paige Lemieux (Fr., Fargo, N.D.) is Bethel's lowest scorer after the first round with a 19-over par 91. Hannah Hunstad (Jr., Medina, Minn.) shot a 94 on the par 72, 5,857-yard course as the second lowest scorer for the Royals.  Bree Eastlack (Sr., Rockford, Minn.) and Katie Mickelson (Sr., Foreston, Minn.) make round out the top four Bethel golfers from the first day.

Bethel currently sits just two strokes back of Saint Mary's University, whom they defeated earlier this season in a dual meet at The Jewel Golf Course in Lake City, Minn.

Bethel is scheduled to tee the ball up again tomorrow for the second round of the 54-hole tournament. Each of the three rounds will take place at Bunker Hills.
