BLAINE, Minn. - The Bethel Royals found themselves trailing a winless Augsburg team 2-0 after one period, but came back to win 4-2 by scoring four unanswered goals.

Augsburg got on the board first when Brett Way scored with 6:15 remaining in the first period.  Jim Jensen  made it 2-0 by taking advantage of a power play opportunity with 4:05 remaining.

The Auggies held their lead until Brad Peterson (Jr., Bloomington, Minn.) scored his fourth goal of the season midway through the second period to cut the Auggies lead in half.  Kent Bostrom (Jr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.) tied the score less than two minutes later with his eighth goal.  Bethel took the lead for good when Christian Fogerty (Fr., Forest Lake, Minn.) scored a goal with 4:15 remaining in the period.  By scoring the goal, Fogerty was able to one-up his older brother, Patrick, who is a junior on the Augsburg team.

Matt Hall scored his seventh goal of the season on an empty net with six seconds remaining in the third period, making it the fourth game in a row that he has scored a goal.

Goalie Aaron Damjanovich (So., Remer, Minn.) stopped 32 of 34 shots for the Royals.

The win helps Bethel even out their conference record at 2-2, and boosts their overall record to 7-2.  Augsburg remains winless and falls to 0-4 in the MIAC and 0-7-1 overall.  The Royals will be at home again next Friday night against St. John's at 7:30 p.m. for the first game of their weekend series.

Athletes of the Week
Taylor Ferda
Men's Track and Field
Taylor Ferda won the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.75 seconds and was the lead runner on the 4 x 400 meter relay team that set a new school record and earned an NCAA provisional time in the event. Two weeks earlier, Ferda earned an NCAA provisional time in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.71 seconds. He along with several other Royals will next compete at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, this weekend.
Taylor Sheley
Women's Basketball
Taylor Sheley helped the Royals defeat St. Olaf last Saturday by scoring a career-high 22 points. A bulk of her points came off of three-pointers, where she was 5-for-6, on her way to an 8-for-10 shooting display from the floor. Sheley scored 47 total points last week and averaged nearly three rebounds per game as well. Bethel has a pair of big games this week, first against St. Thomas, then against Gustavus.
