Head Coach: Brian Carlson

Carlson begins his 3rd year as Head Coach after leading the Royals to their second consecutive playoff appearance. In Carlson's first season the Royals advanced all the way to the MIAC finals and last season advanced to the semi-finals. Additionally, for the second season in a row under Carlson's leadership, the Royals had at least four players named to the MIAC All-Conference team (Anna Carlson, Rachael Geng, Biz Huss, and Cristina Masten) and Anna Carlson was named to the 2011-12 CCM All-American First Team. Prior to his head coaching position, Carlson was an assistant coach with the team focusing primarily on defense. Carlson has watched, played, and coached at various levels of hockey for many years prior to coming to Bethel.

Coach Carlson and his wife Sue live in the Roseville area and have two children; Neal, a 2007 Bethel graduate and former captain on the men's hockey team, and Anna, a 2012 Bethel graduate.


MitchBaker
Assistant Coach: Mitch Baker

Baker is a 2008 graduate of Bethel University and has been involved with the women's hockey program since 2007. His main duties consist of coaching the Royal's goaltenders and defensemen. He is also active in practice, planning, and recruiting. A former goaltender for the Royal's men's hockey program, he aided senior goalie Beth Spurrier earn RBK All-American First Team honors, as well as her fourth consecutive All-MIAC conference award.

In addition to his duties with the Royals, Coach Baker coaches goaltenders professionally with Premier Goaltender Development. Baker resides in Blaine, Minn.









NealCarlson
Assistant Coach: Neal Carlson
Carlson is in his third year on the Royal's staff as an assistant coach after a prolific four-year career with the Bethel men's team. As a defenseman, Carlson was a key member of the 2006-07 team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs. He earned All-MIAC honors both his junior and senior year, while scoring 15 goals and 44 assists for a career total of 59 points. He graduated from Bethel in 2007 with a degree in business finance and is employed by Wells Fargo. Carlson, his wife Alex and son Henry reside in the Lake Elmo area.
