Bethel Volleyball Camps

Advanced Skills Camp

 
Description: This individual skills camp is designed for female athletes with competitive volleyball experience entering grades 9-12. The camp is not intended for beginning players; athletes who attend should have experience playing the specific positions of setter, hitter, or defensive specialist. On the first day, players will be skill tested and placed in groups so that they can progress as quickly or as slowly as necessary. Individual play and fundamentals specific to each position will be stressed, but many team concepts will also be introduced. The camp will end with a team tournament on the last day.  
Cost: $350 ($300 for commuters); a $100 nonrefundable deposit is required with registration. Cost includes instruction, room and board, pizza parties, insurance, T-shirt, volleyball, sports New Testament, on-site trainer, and full use of Bethel University facilities.
Camp Limit: Applicants will be accepted in the order received until the camp limit of 80 is reached.

NEW! Team Camp

Dates: July 24-25, 2009

Description: This is the inaugural year of the Bethel University Team Instructional and Competition Camp. This camp was initiated to fill a gap that exists in the Twin Cities metro area for team camps and is designed for varsity level teams. The camp includes skill training, team practices run by the Bethel University camp staff, and competition sessions. Coaches are welcome to attend and assist in training (only as allowed by MSHSL Summer Waiver legislation), but are not required to attend. Teams are guaranteed two matches on Friday and three matches on Saturday. Get a jump on your 2009 season by spending time together at this camp!

Special Features:
•    Competition sessions are refereed by a member of the Bethel Volleyball camp staff.
•    Each team will be given a DVD of one of their matches.
•    Campers have access to the newly opened (March 2009) Brushaber Commons during breaks. This building features new dining facilities, air-conditioned locations to hang-out and relax, meeting rooms, Caribou Coffee, and a smoothie bar.

Cost: $100 per camper; a $40 nonrefundable deposit required with registration. Cost includes instruction, room and board, insurance, T-shirt, on-site trainer, and full use of the Bethel University facilities.

Day Camp

Dates: July 27-28, 2009
 
Description: This individual skills camp is designed for intermediate-level athletes (generally grades 6-8) with one to three years of volleyball experience. The grades indicated are guidelines; your daughter may have more or less experience than other athletes her age. The camp is designed to facilitate the development of self-confidence and discipline by challenging athletes in a high-energy and supportive environment. Individual play and the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, and serving will be stressed. In addition, hustle, communication, and learning to build each other up are an important part of the curriculum.
 
Cost: $120; a $40 nonrefundable deposit required with registration. Cost includes instruction, insurance, T-shirt, volleyball, devotion materials and full use of the Bethel University facilities.
Camp Limit: Applicants will be accepted in the order received until the camp limit of 60 is reached.
