ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethel University's Jay Quick (Jr., Johnston, Iowa) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Co-Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last weekend. Quick cleared 2.07 meters (6 ft, 9.5 inches) and won the high jump at the St. Olaf Invitational on Friday. The height is a NCAA provisional qualifying mark and Quick cleared it in his first meet of the season after studying abroad the last month. The 2.07m mark is one inch off of the 20-year old school record of 6 ft. 10.5 inches, is tops in the MIAC, and is third in all of Division III so far in 2010. Quick and the Royals are scheduled to compete this weekend in the Bethel Invitational, hosted on campus at the Sports and Recreation Center (SRC) beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning. Quick shares his honor with Andrew Brueggen of Saint Mary's. |
