Swenson Shoots One Under As Royals Defeat Tommies By Nine Strokes

HAM LAKE, Minn.
- On what was a beautiful Friday afternoon for a round of golf, the Bethel Royals teed off against conference foe St. Thomas at the par 72, 7,073-yard Signature Course at Majestic Oaks Golf Club. The Royals used strong performances from their top four golfers to win by nine strokes, 302-311.

Mason Swenson (So., Eagan, Minn.) was the medalist on the day with a one-under par 71. He was followed by Toby Robinson (So., Mankato, Minn.) and Charlie Cook (Sr., Rochester, Minn.), who each shot 76. Michael Yocum (Sr., Mora, Minn.) rounded out Bethel's first team golfers with a 79. St. Thomas used four golfers who all shot between 77-79 for their scoring.

Bethel's second team shot a combined 328, compared to St. Thomas' 318. Newcomer Taylor Tollette (Fr., Andover, Minn.) shot a 77 for a low.

Bethel is scheduled to return to the links next weekend when they play in the Augsburg Invitational, set to take place at Majestic Oaks as well, beginning next Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
