Team-Best Score Leads to Victory Over Macalester in Dual Meet

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethel University's women's golf team continues to blaze new trails. Last season marked the beginning of the program, and after today's dual meet with Macalester, the team now has a new low round. Bethel's top four golfers shot a collective 361 a the Par 71, 5,843-yard Highland National Golf Course on their way to a 25-stroke win over the Scots. The previous low round was a 368, achieved in the spring of 2009 during the first round of the Macalester Spring Extravaganza.

The Royals were led by Paige Lemieux (So., Fargo, N.D.) with an 80, followed closely by Hannah Hunstad (Sr., Medina, Minn.) with an 85. Ellie Wood (Fr., Shoreview, Minn.) shot a 17-over par 88, while Cara Lindell (Sr., Cambridge, Minn.) rounded out the top golfers for Bethel. Grace Caird was Macalester's top golfer with a 92.

Bethel will have the next couple of weeks to practice for the Division III Midwest Classic, scheduled to take place at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn., on September 19 and 20.
