SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. - This past weekend the Bethel Royals women's golf team competed in the Saint Benedict Invitational at both Blackberry Ridge Course in Sartell, Minn., and Wapicada Golf Course in Sauk Rapids, Minn. The Royals would start and finish seventh as a team with two-day total of 783.
During the first day at Blackberry Ridge, the Royals finished with a combined score of 402 with
Paige Lemieux (So., Fargo, N.D.) shooting a low round total of 93. Bethel drastically improved the second day at Wapicada Golf Course, chipping more than twenty strokes off their first day total for a score of 381.
Lemieux finished both days as Bethel's top golfer. With her first round total of 93 and her second round score of 89, she would finish tied for 16th with a total of 182.
Ellie Wood (Fr., Shoreview, Minn.) would go on to fire a score of 192 over the two-day event. Wood shot a first round total of 98 and a second round total of 94.
Along with the men's team, the women will take part in this weekend's MIAC Championships held at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn. The tournament begins Saturday, Oct. 3.
