ST. PAUL, Minn.
- Bethel University's Marie Borner (Sr., Cottage Grove, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend.

Borner, the defending NCAA national champion in cross country, won the Les Duke Invitational in Grinnell, Iowa on Saturday beating out 221 runners on the six-kilometer course. Her time of 21:23 was nine seconds ahead of the second place finisher and was over forty seconds faster than her winning time from this meet last year. Borner's individual title also helped Bethel to finish second overall, and first among Division III teams, at the meet.

Bethel's next meet is the Roy Griak Invitational, scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 26, at the Les Bolstad Golf Course on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota.
