ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethel University's
Tyler Hinrichs (Sr., Clara City, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track Co-Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Howard Wood Relays last weekend in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Hinrichs broke a 32 year-old school record, previously held by Bethel athletics hall of fame member Larry Caldwell, by running a provisional NCAA mark of 3:52.99 in the 1500 meter run. The time eclipsed the previous record by .61 seconds and ranks Hinrichs tied for 11th in this season's Division III performances to date.
Hinrichs and the Royals are scheduled to compete in the MIAC Championship meet this weekend beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday at Laird Stadium on the campus of Carleton College.
