MIAC Release | ABCA Release

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.
- Bethel University's three All-MIAC baseball players have earned spots on one of the three American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Midwest regional teams.

Tim Oesterlin
Tim Oesterlin (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) earned first team all-region recognition. He finished the conference season in the top three among hitters with a .472 average with 34 hits in 72 at bats. He also had 16 runs, 15 RBIs, seven doubles, three triples, and three home runs. Overall, Oesterlin was one of the most consistent hitters in the Royals lineup and hit safely in all but four of the 37 games he played in this season, which included 18 multi-hit games and six games with three or more hits. At one point, the starting centerfielder had a 14-game hitting streak. Oesterlin led the team in runs (35), hits (57), doubles (9), triples (3), RBIs (28), total bases (81), slugging percentage (.643), and stolen bases (8).

Travis Adams
Travis Adams (Sr., Chanhassen, Minn.) was named to the all-region second team. He compiled a season record of 7-4, but more impressively, he was 6-1 in MIAC play, which included wins over each of the four playoff teams. He recorded four complete game shutouts, including one over the national champion St. Thomas Tommies, and combined for a fifth against conference playoff champions, St. Olaf, which was the first ever shutout of the Oles by the Royals. The senior lefthander led the conference in wins (6) and innings pitched (45.2) while finishing second in ERA (1.38) and strikeouts (38). Adams finishes his collegiate career in the top five of several pitching categories including first in ERA (3.29), a tie for third in saves (4), and fifth in appearances (43), innings pitched (180.2), and strikeouts (137). His 14 career wins ties him for sixth place all-time at Bethel.

Jay Slick
Jay Slick (Fr., River Falls, Wis.) was named to the all-region third team. The freshman made an impact immediately in his first collegiate season by compiling a .436 batting average, second on the team only to Oesterlin. He led the team in home runs (4), walks (28), and on base percentage (.570), while finishing second in runs (33), hits (41), RBIs (25), and total bases (60).
