Bethel in first place at St. Olaf Invitational after 18 holes

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Three Royals shot a 75 or better in the first round of the St. Olaf Invitational, putting Bethel in first place among nine teams after 18 holes of competition with a collective score of 301.

Tony Weber (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn.) was the team's low scorer with a 73 on the par 70, 6,700-yard Northfield Country Club course. He was followed closely by John Buyse (Sr., Anoka, Minn.) and Mason Swenson (Fr., Eagan, Minn.), who each shot a 75.

The Royals are scheduled to tee off around 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Willingers Golf Club in Northfield for the final 18 holes of the tournament, which will be their last event of the 2008-09 campaign.
