ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethel University's
Tim Oesterlin (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Baseball Player of the Week for his performances last Friday against Hamline at Hargis Park.
Oesterlin was a key contributor to Bethel's doubleheader sweep of the Hamline Pipers, as he was a combined 6-for-8 at the plate with three runs and three extra base hits. The starting centerfielder was 3-for-4 with two runs and a double in Bethel's 11-0 win in the first game. In the second game, he again batted 3-for-4 with a double and his third triple in his last four games. He also batted in three runs to lift Bethel to an 11-2 win in the nightcap. Oesterlin now has a conference batting average of .769 through four games and leads the Royals in several offensive categories, including hits, runs, triples, RBIs, total bases, and stolen bases.
The Royals are scheduled to take on St. Olaf and Saint John's on the road this week and return home to play Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday afternoon at home.
