ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel University men's track team was all smiles after their participation in the Bolstorff Twilight Meet, hosted by Macalester College. The Royals had five competitors place within the top three slots in their event, which was enough to land them an overall second place finish in the meet - falling only behind the University of Minnesota.

Taylor Ferda (Jr., Whitefish, Mont.) earned a second place slot in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.97. Two more Royals who came out nearly on top were Jay Quick (So., Johnston, Iowa), and Ben Bursaw (Fr., St. Louis Park, Minn.), who each competed in the high jump. Both Quick and Bursaw hit a height of 1.91 m, which was .05 m away from the MInnesota man who finished first.

Other standout Bethel performances include Carl Gladitsch (Sr., Bloomer, Wis.) who ran the 3000 meter Steeplechase and finished third with a time of 9:27:96. His time shattered both his personal and the school's record by more than 12 seconds. Another thrid place finish went to Tyler Hinrichs (Sr., Clara City, Minn.) who ran the 800 meter race in 1:54.52.

Up next for the Royals is the Drake Relays, hosted by Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. The meet will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week and will feature Bethel's 4 x 400 meter relay team.
