Eric Rhode (Jr., Oakdale, Minn.) finished in sixth place at the 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championship meet, thus giving him the title of All-American.
Rhode finished with a time of 49.36 seconds at the meet, hosted by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, a mere .01 seconds off his personal best time of a month ago which earned him the trip to the national meet. This is Rhode's first individual All-American honor as the top seven finishers in each race earn NCAA All-American status.
Meanwhile,
Jay Quick (So., Johnston, Iowa) also competed in the finals of his event today. Quick, along with seven other high jumpers, topped out at 2.00 meters (6 feet, 6.75 inches), which put him in 14th place amongst the other top high jumpers in the nation.
