ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethel University's
Kent Bostrom (Sr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week for his performances during the week of February 16, 2009.
Bostrom closed out his senior year with two solid performances against St. Thomas. On Friday night, the three-time All-MIAC forward had an assist on Bethel's first goal to tie the game 1-1, and then brought the Royals within a goal of tying with a goal shortly into the third period. The following night, Bostrom had an assist on the game winning goal - one of his four on the night - and had a goal of his own to give him seven series points against the #3 seeded Tommies, and a five point performance for the second time this season against a MIAC playoff team. Bostrom finishes the season as Bethel's ninth highest scorer all-time, the second highest point and assist scorer in conference play, as well as the top power play point scorer.
Bostrom finished with 33 points on 11 goals and 22 assists, which led the team. The Royals finished their season at 12-12-1 overall and 8-8 in conference play.
