Royals Cut Strokes, Remain in 9th Place

Hannah Hunstad remains Bethel's top golfer in the MIAC Championships.

COON RAPIDS, Minn. - After finishing the second round of the MIAC Championships Sunday at Bunker Hills Golf Course, the Bethel Royals women's golf team remains in ninth place out of the 10 teams. The Royals finished the first round of the par 72, 5,875-yard course with a team total of 379. Bethel drastically improved upon that performance in the second round, cutting 14 strokes off their total to finish with 365. The Royals are looking to bounce up the leader board today in the final round of the tournament.

Hannah Hunstad (Sr., Medina, Minn.) is currently Bethel's top golfer in the tournament finishing yesterday with a score of 89 to put her 35 over par on the weekend. Paige Lemieux (So., Fargo, N.D.) follows close behind her with a total of 37 over par after shooting a team-best 87.

Gustavus Adolphus College is currently leading the field with a score of 77 over par. They are 29 strokes ahead of second place Saint Benedict. The MIAC Championships conclude on Monday with tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
