COLFAX, Wis.
- Despite running without their national champion, the Royals still finished fifth out of 19 teams in the Blugold Open 6K race today.

A week after winning the Griak Invitational, two-time NCAA All-American Marie Borner (Sr., Cottage Grove, Minn.) took a breather while the rest of the nationally ranked Royals competed in the UW-Eau Claire sponsored race. Bethel finished ahead of each of the other four MIAC teams competing in today's race.

Alex Potter (Jr., Windom, Minn.) ran under 23 minutes and was the Royals top runner, placing sixth at 22:51. Kristin Mork (Jr., Cambridge, Minn.) at 23:08 and Heather Jelen (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) at 23:11, finished 13th and 15th for Bethel, respectively. Kayla Jelen (Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) placed 30th and Carissa Bodette (Fr., Lakeville, Minn.) at 89th, wrapped up the top five finishers for the Royals.

The Royals now have until Saturday, Oct. 17, to prepare for their next meet, the Oshkosh Invitational, at Lake Breeze Golf Course, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
