ARDEN HILLS, Minn.
- In their  final regular season home game, the Bethel men's soccer team displayed some offensive fireworks against North Central. En route to a 13-0 victory over the Rams, 10 different players scored goals for the Royals with Brandon Peplinski (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn.) and Gregory LeVere (Jr., Forth Worth, Texas) collecting two on Monday afternoon.

The flood gates opened up early in the game when Matt VanBenschoten (Sr., Minnetonka, Minn.) got the Royals on the board just a mere 23 seconds into the game. He was assisted on the goal by Andreas Scott (Jr., Cedar, Minn.) and Tim Langefels (Sr., Bloomington, Minn.). Langefels and Scott would go on to add goals of their own as the Royals finished the first half of play leading 8-0.

The second half opened much the same as the first half with Bethel dominating the play on both ends of the field. The offensive barrage continued as the Royals received goals from Zach Larson(Fr., New Brighton, Minn.), Brian Holm (Fr., Champlin, Minn.), and Michael Voigtlander (Jr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.) to help Bethel cruise to a 13-0 victory. Nick Kantor (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.), Leif Sundberg (So., Mahtomedi, Minn.), and Erik Sorensen (So., Park Ridge, Ill.) combined to earn the shutout for the Royals.

The 13 goals this afternoon were the most by the Royals team this season in one game, as well as the most during Coach PepeJon Chavez's tenure at Bethel, and it ties a school record. The last time Bethel posted a double digit goal figure was on September 2, 1997, against Concordia-St. Paul when they scored 13 goals. With the win the Royals now move to 10-5-2 on the season. Bethel wraps up regular season and MIAC play tomorrow afternoon in Northfield, Minn., where they will take on St. Olaf College.
