STARKVILLE, Miss. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Diviion III All-Region teams today, and Bethel University's Laura Naig (Sr., Kasson, Minn.) earned a spot on the Midwest second team at first base.
Naig was one of Bethel's most consistent hitters throughout her career. She finished the 2008 season with the third highest batting average on the team at .327. She was a team co-leader in doubles and stolen bases with seven, second in triples with two, and second in runs batted in with 20. Her ability to be patient and put the ball in play helped her walk nine times, while only striking out five times in 117 plate appearances. In the field, Naig led the team in put outs with 191.
